CU: THIS WEEKEND

VOLLEYBALL AT HOME; CROSS COUNTRY, SOCCER AND WOMEN'S GOLF ON THE ROAD

The Campus Beautiful will be a comparatively quiet place this weekend, as most of that action for Concord Athletics takes place away from Athens.

The exception is VOLLEYBALL. The Lady Lions, after playing their first 10 matches on the road, open their home and West Virginia Intercollegiate Conference schedules with a pair of matches at the Carter
Pass vs Bluefield State 9.13.2010 206 x 314
Center.

Concord takes on Fairmont State (5-4, 0-1) Friday night at 7:00 pm, then hosts Seton Hill (1-3, 0-1) Saturday morning at 11:00.
The Lady Lions seek to snap a five-match losing streak.

Fairmont State is coming off a sweep at the hands of defending WVIAC champion Wheeling Jesuit in their conference opener Wednesday night.

Seton Hill will visit Bluefield State Friday night before taking on the Lady Lions the next morning.  The Griffins dropped their WVIAC opener at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday, September 11.

CU's CROSS COUNTRY teams will run in the Virginia Tech Alumni Meet Friday in Blacksburg, VA. It's a homecoming of sorts for Concord head coach Mike Cox, a Hokie alumnus.

WOMEN'S GOLF looks to stay in form with a visit to the Screaming Eagle Classic in Evansville, IN on Sunday and Monday. The Lady Lions are off an impressive ten-stroke victory in the season-opening Lady Falcon Invitational in Fairmont, WV earlier this week.
