THREE-GAME RUN ENDS AT KING

The Concord Women's Soccer team saw its three-game winning streak end with a 3-1 non-conference loss at King College (TN) Saturday afternoon.

Kate Armentrout put CU ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 2nd mintue, burying a kick into the right corner of the net, off an assist from Gemma Nortcliffe.

But the Lady Tornado leveled the match on Hannah Shankle's goal in the 14th minute, then took the lead on Morgan Shelton's goal in the 29th minute.  Shankle put in the clinching score in the 78th minute.

King outshot Concord 15-7. 

The loss dropped CU under .500 at 4-5.

The Lady Lions seek a return to the win column by hosting the University of Charleston in a key WVIAC match on Tuesday, October 5.  Both CU and UC have 12 points in league play, tying them for second place.

Kickoff is at 2:00 pm at Anderson Field.  Admission is free.
