Vienna, WV- Concord went to Vienna hoping not to have a set back after a huge upset win over #6 West Liberty. Concord took care of business as they handled Ohio Valley 75-59.
Ohio Valley led early over the surging Mountain Lions at 5-2. But once Concord took a 7-5 lead over the Fighting Scots they never looked back as they kept the lead the rest of the game.
Concord proved again tonight not to count them out for a chance of winning the WVIAC tournament. The Mountain Lions were consistent all night from the floor as multiple players had a very impressive night.
Concord shot 49 percent from the floor in the first half while making four three pointers. But, most impressive tonight, the Mountain Lions defense held the Fighting Scots to only 24 percent from the field in the first half. Concord opened up a comfortable eight point lead at halftime as they led 34-26.
Concord's resiliency gave them the ability to never relinquish the lead. Concord stayed poised and shot 54 percent from the floor in the second half (51 percent for the game) as they held Ohio Valley to 39 percent.
Concord's great defensive play and outstanding offensive production as enabled them to string together their third straight win. Concord defeated the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots 75-59.
Three players ended the game with 12 points. Cordale Boyd ended with 12 points, rebounds, and 4 assists, Matt Parker and Rafee Smith also contributed 12 points. Anthony Lansdowne added 11 points and 5 rebounds.
Concord (9-11, WVIAC 4-9) will be on the road in Buchannon on Thursday , February 7th at 7:30 to take on West Virginia Wesleyan.
