Institute, WV- Concord looked revenge a defeat from earlier in the season the West Virgina State Yellow Jackets. However, Concord wasn't able to overcome West Virginia's State strong second half as the Yellow Jackets defeated the Mountain Lions 84-68.
The Mountain Lions took an early 11-5 lead over the Yellow Jackets over the first 5 minutes. But their lead would dwindle away. West Virginia State would recover the lead around the 8 minute mark at 25-23.
The Yellow Jackets, one the WVIAC's best teams, pushed their lead to 7 at halftime. West Virginia State lead Concord at the half 37-30.
WV State began the second half on a 9-2 run and they wouldn't look back on the Mountain Lions. West Virginia State never really underwent a scare as they comfortably led over Concord in the second half.
West Virginia State led by as many 16 points in the second half as they would eventually defeat Concord 84-68.
Concord shot 42 percent from the floor and only 15 percent (3-20) from the arc. The Mountain Lions were out rebounded 51-36 and they had 16 turnovers.
Dannie Parker led Concord in scoring with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Anthony Lansdowne added 13 points while Cordale Boyd had 10.
Concord (12-13, WVIAC 7-11) will be on the road in Charleston to take on the Golden Eagles on Thursday, February 21st at 7:30pm.
