Mountain Lion Streak Ends at Six with Loss at Glenville State

Glenville, WV- The Mountain Lions looked to avenge an earlier Lady Lions loss earlier in the evening as they traveled to take on the Pioneers of Glenville State. Concord looked to keep their 6 game winning streak alive on the road.  The Pioneers played the role of spoiler tonight as they beat Concord 84-80.

Concord started the game off hot leading as many as 8 point in the first half. Glenville State would fight back tying the game several times in the first half until Concord would eventually take the lead 36-33 half time lead.

Concord would lead most of the second half going up by as many as 12 points around the 7 minute mark. Glenville State would go on a 14-2 run over the next 2 minutes to tie the game at 70.

The Pioneers would continue to push their lead to 4 in the final seconds of the game. Dannie Parker would hit 2 foul shots with  24 seconds in the game. But Tryvan Leech would hit 2 foul shots to push the lead back to 4.

A quick lay-up by Dannie Parker would cut the score back to two but they would have to hope for a miss at the line from Glenville State. Anthony Kimble would make two foul shots to seal the deal for the Pioneers.

Concord's winning streak came to an end at 6 straight games. The Pioneers defeated Concord 84-80.

The Mountain Lions shot 50 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three point range in the loss to Glenville State. Dannie Parker led the way for the Mountain Lions with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Matt Parker added 17 points. Anthony Lansdowne put in 16 points and Cordale Boyd added 14 points.

Concord (12-12, WVIAC 7-10) will back in the road to take on one of the league's best teams in West Virginia State this Saturday, February 16th at 4:00pm.
