Greenville, TN- Concord hosted Tusculum College a little over a month as they defeated them by 9 points. The Mountain Lions traveled to face the Pioneers to try and duplicate that performance. Concord came out on the short end as they were edged out by Tusculum 67-64.
In a game that battled back and forth all night, Concord just missed out on earning Coach
Steve Cox his 300th career win. Concord fell behind by at the end of the half 33-28.
Tusculum's defense seemed to be the difference in the game as they held Concord's leading scorer Dannie Parker to only 4 points for the night. Tusculum's lead never built past 8 points as Concord battled tying the game multiple times.
Tusculum's 8 three pointers gave them a slight edged in the final seconds. However, Anthony Lansdowne took a 3 point shot to try and tie the game with only seconds left but in the end the Pioneers held on for a 67-64 win over the Mountain Lions.
Lemond Lee led Concord in scoring as he had 15 points and 5 rebounds. Anthony Lansdowne added 12 points, while Cordale Boyd added 12 points, 6 assists, and 5 boards.
Concord (5-5) will be in Greensburg, PA this weekend to face off against Seton Hill. The game is scheduled for January 12th at 4pm.
