Mountain Lions Hang Tough Against the Battlers

Athens, WV- After watching the Lady Lions lose to the Alderson-Broaddus Lady Battlers the Mountain Lions came out poised and ready a avenge the ladies' loss. However, Concord couldn't recover from a final 5 minute run by the Battlers as they lost 86-70.

In the first half Alderson-Broaddus led by as many as ten points, but with tough defense and with skilled shooting the Mountain Lions were able to stay right with one of the league's best teams in the Battlers.

The Mountain Lions forced 9 first half turnovers and Cordale Boyd seemed to be their finishing every fast break. As the Mountain Lions fight hard against the Battlers Chance Smith banked in a 3 point shot to give the Mountain Lions the lead right before the break. At the half the Mountain Lions led the Battlers 36-34.

Concord came out in the second half and began to impose their will on the Battlers. Concord dominated on the glass and built their lead up to as many as 8. However, the Batters began to battle.  At the 5 minute mark the Battlers took the lead and proceeded to go on a 16-3 run.

Concord seemly had the wind knocked out of them towards the end of the game as the Battlers were too much as they won 86-70. Dannie Parker had a monster game for the Mountain Lions with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
