Greensburg, PA Hoping for a bounce back from the hard loss to West Virginia State and Tusculum College, the Concord's men traveled to Greensburg, PA, to face new WVAIC team Seton Hill. But the Griffins were just too much for the Mountain Lions as they fell 80-64.
During the first half the men only got 26 shots off, and made only 11 of them. They only shot six threes and made half of the attempts. On defense the Mountain Lions gave up 39 attempts on the floor, with the Griffins making 16 of those 39, and making 2 of 7 from behind the arc. Both teams went 3 for 4 from the line.
The second half wasn't any better for the Mountain Lions. While their shooting on the floor improved from 42% to 56%, behind the arc fell from 50% to 25%, making only one attempt out of 4, and though the Mountainlions saw the line 16 times in the second half, they only shot 31%. While Seton Hill improved their numbers going from 41% from the floor to 44%, upping their 28% of three pointers to 37%, and going 14 of 22 for 63% for foul shots. Though numbers were low for both teams, the Griffins saw their biggest lead of the game in the second half, leading Concord at one time by 28 points.
Concord was led by Cordale Boyd with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Dannie Parker had 17 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. While Matthew Parker chipped in 6 points and Derrick Calloway pulled down 4 rebounds.
The men's basketball team will be back in action Monday, January 14, at Bluefield State. Tip off is scheduled at 7:30.
