Concord Volleyball Powers Past Big Blues

Tomi Dement slams a kill against Bluefield State

Athens, WV- Concord's Volleyball team welcomed their rival Bluefield State into the Carter Center for their first home game of the season. Concord powered past the Big Blues winning the contest 3-1. The score line for the games were as follows: 28-30, 30-18, 30-17, and 30-26.

The Carter Center was packed for the Lady Lions first home contest. The atmosphere was electric but the Big Blues stunned the Lady Lions as they took the first game.

However, the Lady Lions began to "roar" with intensity for the second game. Concord beat Bluefield State the next two games with determination.

In game four Bluefield State took an early 7 point lead, but the Big Blues anticipated victory would soon be a distant memory. Point by point Concord came from behind as they held on to beat the Big Blues 30-26 in the final game.

Leading the way for the Lady Lions in kills was Emily Wilson with 13, while following close behind were Lindsey Sheppard with 12 and Alexandria Albright with 11.
