Fairmont, WV- The Concord University Mountain Lions traveled to Fairmont, WV to take on the Fairmont State Falcons for an end of the season showdown. The Falcons shutout the Mountain Lions as they were downed 17-0.
Concord had good field position throughout the day but could not take advantage by scoring points. Concord's Zach Boyd missed a 31 yard field on the end of the first drive and could not connect on a 4th down play on their second drive.
Perry Baker picked off a pass with 7:21 left in the second quarter and went 33 yards for the scores. The Falcons would take a 7-0 lead into halftime.
Concord would make the Falcons go three and out to start the third quarter and would receive good field position. The Mountain Lions would miss another field goal turning the ball back to the Falcons.
Fairmont State would connect on a 38 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter to move the score to 10-0 in favor of the Falcons. Brazil would add a one yard touchdown to make the final score 17-0.
Tommy Frazier led the offense for Concord going 16-28 for 226 yards. Dustin Greenwood had another 100 yard receiving game with 7 catches for 113 yards. Nathan Tanner had 4 catches for 54 yards and Ron Buskey had two catches for 40 yards.
Ola Adam led the Mountain Lion defense with 11 tackles, 2 of which went for a loss. Tank Tunstalle added 10 tackles, one for a loss, and a sack. Tony Keiling Jr. added 8 tackles of his own.
