Max Lilly begins his seventh season on staff for the Concord football program in the fall of 2022.
He assumed the defensive coordinator position on Dave Walker's staff in January 2022.
Lilly has served in a multitude of roles for the Mountain Lions in his tenure, but has been the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for the last two seasons before assuming the role of defensive backs coach in addition to his recruiting duties. The Beckley, West Virginia native coached All-MEC Honorable Mention selection Ryan Gatrell during the 2019 season.
On Lilly's watch, Concord has combined for 93 tackles for loss and 18 sacks over the last two seasons. In that same time period, Concord's defensive line has combined for 11 takeaways with Gatrell leading the way with four fumble recoveries.
Prior to his work with the defensive line, Lilly served as the assistant defensive line coach and special teams coach.
Lilly comes from a coaching family as his dad, John, has had coaching stops at the collegiate and high school level, including the father-son tandem coaching at Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley with John being the head coach and Max, an assistant, before the younger Lilly came to Concord prior to the 2016 season.
Lilly is married to the former Brittany Domingo. They reside in Athens.
