Kevin Elliott starts his second season in charge of Concord's defense in the fall of 2019.
Elliott returned to his alma mater in the spring of 2018 after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at the University of Louisville. The former Concord defensive standout was at Concord from 2013-2015 before moving to northern Kentucky for two seasons at Louisville.
In 2018, Elliott helped tutor Zach Malone to a All-Mountain East Conference Second Team selection and Chaudlier Shepherd to a spot on the All-MEC Honorable Mention list.
During 2013 and 2014 seasons, Elliott was a graduate assistant for the Mountain Lions before being hired full time for the 2015 season where he was not only the safeties coach, but also coordinated the Concord special teams.
In his first season in charge of the Mountain Lions’ safeties, Elliott helped guide both Davon Marion and Josh Clark to All-Mountain East Conference honors with Marion going on to receive all-region and All-America accolades as well.
The 2014 season produced equally as well as for CU's safeties as Derrick Johnson was named an all-conference and all-region performer while leading the Mountain Lions in interceptions with six.
Elliott entered the coaching ranks after completing a standout playing career for Concord in which he played in 32 games, recording 67 tackles, four interceptions. 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. As a senior in 2012, Elliott earned honorable mention All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades.
