Payton earned All-MEC three times in her career. She was All-MEC First Team during her freshman season in 2016 and followed it up with two All-MEC Second Team selections in 2017 and 2018. She was a pivotal part of Concord's 2018 MEC Championship team which was the first conference championship for the women's cross country program in eight years.
