At the beginning of March, Weitzel was named a four-time all-region performer by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA). The announcement brought the total number of all-region recognitions to 16 for the Athens, West Virginia. For the 2020 indoor season, Weitzel was named all-region in the mile run, 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run as well as the distance medley relay.
