Carmichael was named the Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year early last week as she helped Concord to 12 shutouts during the regular season while allowing just seven goals. The Fleming Island, Florida native also captained Concord to its first MEC Championship as it picked up 2-0 wins over Notre Dame in the semfinal round and Fairmont State in the championship game.
