Weitzel hit an NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying time of 9:13.45 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Shamrock Invite. The Athens, West Virginia native finished second in the event over the weekend, and his time is sixth-fastest in all of Division II during the outdoor track and field season.
