For the second time in his career, Weitzel was named the Mountain East Conference Runner of the Year for the men's cross country season. The Athens, West Virginia native won the MEC Championship Saturday at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia and helped Concord to a second-place team finish.
