Weitzel was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Indoor Track and Field Team in three different events (3,000-meter run, 5,000-meter run and distance medley relay). Weitzel capped off his week by breaking his own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Concord's first outdoor meet. The Athens, West Virginia native ran 9:27 and won the event.
