Payton clocked a time of 19:42.77 in the 5,00-meter run at the Seahawk Invite Friday evening. The time for Payton was the fourth-fastest in the Mountain East Conference for the outdoor season. Payton finished 10th in the event at the meet and was the fourth Division II finisher.
