Werner tossed 8.2 innings in a 3-1 win at Shepherd. The Brookville, Indiana native struck out a career-high eight batters while scattering nine hits and one run. For Werner, it was the longest outing of his career and the second-best performance of his time at Concord, only behind a six-inning shutout against Glenville State in 2015. Additionally, Werner limited the highest-scoring offense in the MEC to one run, more than six runs below their per game average.
