Reed was named MVP of the Mountain East Conference Tournament after leading the Mountain Lions to the conference title for the first time since 1997. Reed broke the conference tournament record with 15 made three-pointers. Reed's last second shot against West Liberty lifted CU to the championship game in the most improbable fashion as he finished with 34 points in beating the number-one ranked team in the nation and the top seed in the MEC Championship.
