Shawnee Carnett won the 500-meter run at the Liberty Open. Carnett, who also placed 10th at the Hokie Invitational Friday in the 300-meter dash (41.63 seconds), cruised to the 500-meter win with a time of 1:17.04. Her time was over three seconds faster than the second-place finisher. She also ran on Concord's 4x400-meter relay team that finished in third place at Liberty.
