Editor's Note: Over the next 10 days, cumountainlions.com will be taking a look back at the top-10 most outstanding moments and achievements by Concord University teams and athletes during 2013.
The Concord University men's and women's track team has produced three All-American athletes in head coach
Mike Cox's tenure.
One of those standouts is senior
Shawnee Carnett, who has earned four All-America accolades since setting foot on the CU campus in the fall of 2009, including a national championship in the 800-meter run during the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2011.
Last season, Carnett continued her string of top perfromances when she earned her fourth All-America award at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships by placing sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.85.
In four appearances at the NCAA Championships, Carnett is a perfect 4-for-4 in bringing home All-America plaques.
Carnett has already qualified provisionally for 2014 Indoor Championships by running 2:16.39 in the 800 meters at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She will also have eligibility in outdoor track in attempt to be a six-time All-American before her time at Concord has been exhausted athletically.
Carnett will leave Concord as one of the most-decorated female athletes in Mountain Lions history.
