SENIOR SENDOFF
Concord Men's Soccer and Head Coach Alex Smith will celebrate 20 seniors this Saturday before taking on West Liberty. Some key seniors include goalkeeper Nathan Scargill who's been in between the posts for two seasons. In 2024, Scargill was named to the 2024 All-Mountain East Conference First-Team. He has made 87 career saves while just allowing 29 goals across two seasons of action. The Mountain Lions back line is chock full of veteran leaders. Ted Roberts has played all 1,440 minutes for this Concord squad in 2025 and collected nine assists, which currently leads the MEC. In 2024, he was named to the 2024 All-MEC Second Team. His 14 career assists ranks second all-time at Concord. Centrally Julian Correa and Kai Forsyth have been perennial pieces to the CU defense. Correa picked up 22 starts over the last two seasons and netted two career goals. Forsyth was a back-to-back All-MEC First Team selection in 2023 and 2024. He's scored five career goals in the Maroon and Gray. Raheem Baptiste and Darian Bradshaw have held starting midfield spots for multiple seasons. They've started in 44 and 27 games, respectively. Malher Santi Possu has appeared in 26 career games, scoring 20 goals and racking up six assists. His 46 points is tied for fourth and 20 goals is tied for third in the CU record book. Forward Richard Henry has played in 25 career games, tallying eight goals and nine assists.

Other seniors include forward Alex Aliberti, midfielder Andrew Beohler, midfielder Toby Evens-Gilham, midfielder Ben Hailes, goalkeeper Rashad Hart, defender Erik Lotysz, midfielder Nick Lowery, midfielder Martin Medrano, goalkeeper Miguel Oliveria, defender Adam Pyzik, midfielder Daniel Rivers, midfielder Mateo Rodriguez, and midfielder Dontae Thorpe.

LOCKED INTO SECOND
Concord has clinched second in the MEC for the second straight season. Point Park and Davis & Elkins sit behind them in third and fourth respectively and played a 1-1 draw Wednesday afternoon. The Mountain Lions will get a bye until the semifinal round of the MEC Tournament where they will host at least one match.

TUSSLE WITH THE TOPPERS
In their meeting earlier this season, West Liberty shocked the Mountain Lions and took down the tenth-ranked Mountain Lions 1-0. For Concord, they lost on paper but also lost some of their back line. Correa and Forsyth both suffered what would be season-ending injuries in the defeat to the Hilltoppers. Concord looks to bounce back this Saturday as they had taken down West Liberty in three straight matches before the early season slip-up back in September.

A TALL TASK
Concord's last regular season match of the season sees it travel to face nationally-ranked Charleston. In their meeting at Callaghan Stadium, the Golden Eagles squeaked out a 2-1 victory. Junior forward Dominique Malhomme smashed in his first goal of the season in the loss. The match took a turn when Concord picked up a red card and Charleston's go-ahead goal snuck in on a Concord deflection. The Mountain Lions will search for their first ever win at Charleston and just their second ever victory over the Golden Eagles.

SCOUTING THE WEST LIBERTY HILLTOPPERS
The Hilltoppers have been a very feisty team all season long, giving fits to some of the MEC's best squads. They currently sit sixth in the conference, with a 3-6-3 conference record. Their biggest wins have been 1-0 decisions against then number ten Concord and a very dangerous Davis & Elkins side. The forward pairing of Travis Scandlis and Alex Watt have shouldered the load offensively as they each have three goals and two assists.

SCOUTING THE CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES
The Golden Eagles enter the week ranked second nationally in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Charleston holds a 13-0-3 overall record, a 10-0-2 MEC record and are winners of six straight matchups. Charleston did take a bit to click offensively, but UC has come alive as of late. Senior midfielder Sam Newell leads them with 15 points, helping set up the forward tandem of Martin Echarren and Tomas Petrungaro. The strength of the team is their defense. The Golden Eagles have allowed just four goals all season long and senior keeper Konstantinos Parisis has a stellar 0.23 goals allowed average.
