WOMEN'S GOLF: IN POSITION

CU A CLOSE 3rd AFTER 1st ROUND OF WVIAC SOUTHERN REGIONAL

Glade Spring, Cobb
A golf team can't win a two-round tournament after only one round.  But it can put itself in position to win.

That's where the Concord women's golf team stands after Sunday's first round of the WVIAC Southern Regional, at the Glade Springs Resort Cobb Course in Daniel, WV.

The Mountain Lions posted a team score of 334, good for 3rd place in the nine-team field.  CU is just one shot back of 2nd-place Wheeling Jesuit and a mere six off the pace set by first-round leader Seton Hill.

Concord's Marina Erice holds the halfway lead for Medalist honors.  The sophomore from Pamplona, Span fired a 75, one shot better than Seton Hill's Chelsea Sipes.  CU's Justine Knox carded a 78, good for 5th place.

More details are available in the story on the WVIAC website.
