The Concord Women's Golf team might not be able to post back-to-back tournament wins, but the Lady Lions are showing they can play with some of the best teams in the country.

Coming off a victory in the rain-shortened WVIAC Northern Regional, CU went to Findlay, OH for the William Beall Fall Classic, which feature four teams ranked in the latest national top 30.

Concord finds itself in 7th place out of 15 teams after the tournament's first round on Sunday.

The Lady Lions' 338 team total has them 26 shots behind the first-round leader, #1-ranked Grand Valley State (MI).

Among the other squads ahead of CU are 7th-ranked California University (PA), which is in 2nd place after the first round, #27 Gannon University (PA) and #22 Ashland University (OH).

Marina Erice (above left), who won Medalist honors at the Northern Regional last week, posted CU's best showing on Sunday.  Her four-over-par 76 puts her in 4th place in the individual standings.

Justine Knox shot an 80 to tie for 15th.  Shelby Myers carded an 84 to tie for 38th place, and Heather McMillen is tied for 76th after an 86 on Sunday.

The second and final round of the Beall Fall Classic is scheduled for Monday, October 10 on the par-72, 5971-yard Findlay Country Club course.
