CHARMAT, TERDIK LEAD CONCORD AT REGIONALS
You can't win a three-day event after only one day.
But you can put yourself into contention.
Concord emerged as a strong contender after the first day of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Atlantic/East Regional Tournament in Daniels, WV. Playing on one of their home courses, the Mountain Lions totaled a team score of 290 to take the first-round lead by four strokes over Indiana University (PA).
Rain delayed the start of Monday's round by 90 minutes on the par-72, 7084-yard Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs.

Ryan Terdik each carded a one-under par 71 to lead the Mountain Lions, but arrived at their scores from different directions.
Charmat recovered from bogeys on 15 and 16 with back-to-back birdies to close his round; Terdik posted consecutive birdies on 2, 3 and 4 and came in under par even after going +2 over his final 14 holes.
Kyle Long recovered from going +4 over the middle third of his round to wind up at two over 74. Johan Isberg posted CU's most dramatic scorecard, with seven bogeys, three birdies and an eagle to finish at +2 74. Jimmy Ettore shot five double bogeys on his way to an 85.
Charmat and Terdik are part of a three-way tie for second in the individual standings with Garrett Beyor of American International College. Gavin Smith of Indiana University (PA) has the lead with a 68.
Long and Isberg are in a group of eight players tied or 10th place, six strokes off the pace.
