MEN'S GOLF PLACES THREE ON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

CHARMAT, TERDIK, LONG EARN WVIAC HONORS


Concord's Men's Golf team has become one of the top teams in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 
 
The 'Young Lions' – with no seniors on the roster – won the Concord University Invitational March 21st, posted five of the ten lowest rounds by WVIAC teams this year and have finished runners-up three times and in third place once in the last four conference regional tournaments.
 
Appropriately, Concord is well-represented on the 2009-2010 All-WVIAC team.
 
Juniors Emmanuel Charmat and Ryan Terdik – who have tied for the conference lead in scoring average -- earned spots on the 1st Team, with junior Kyle Long being named to the 2nd Team.

Charmat (Neuilly-sur-Seine, France/Lycee Moliere) leads the WVIAC with four tournament rounds of 71 strokes or lower. 
He won Medalist honors at the Concord Invitational March 21st, was 3rd at the WVIAC Championships last October 21st, fifth at the WVIAC Central Regional September 29th and tied for 10th at the highly-competitive North Alabama Spring Invitational March 31st.

Terdik (Mt. Pleasant, Ontario/Assumption) is tied for second for this season's lowest round, carding a 69 in the first round of the WVIAC Southern Regional October 8th.
He was Medalist at the WVIAC Championships October 21st, tied for 6th in the Southern Regional and tied for 9th at last fall's Central Regional.

Long (Ocoee, Florida /West Orange) is tied for the lowest round this season, with a 68 at the Honda of Columbia Fall Classic September 18th. He was Medalist at the WVIAC Southern Regional and is 11th in the conference in scoring average.

Concord, ranked 3rd in the Atlantic Region (http://www.wviac.org/news/2010/4/2/MGOLF_0402102335.aspx), has one more regular season event this spring -- the Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational in Indiana, PA, on April 12th and 13th.
 
 
The post-season begins with the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Championships at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, WV, May 3rd-5th. The NCAA National Championship tournament will be May 18th-21st in Noblesville, IN.
