MEN'S GOLF RISES IN REGION

CONCORD #2 IN ATLANTIC WITH POST-SEASON APPROACHING

If polls and rankings are an indication, Concord's Men's Golf will be a team to watch in the 2010 post-season.

The latest official NCAA Division II rankings have the Mountain Lions 2nd in the Atlantic Region

Concord finished the regular season on a roll.  In its last two outings, playing against highly-competitive fields, CU was a respectable runner-up – at the WVIAC Northern Regional, April 4th-5th, and the Spadafora Invitational in Indiana, PA, April 12th-13th

Plus, three CU golfers earned All-WVIAC honors this season.

"This semester has been the best the guys have played since I've been here," said CU assistant coach Darcy Donaldson.  "They've worked hard on and off the course, and the extra hours have shown in their play.
"They're young but talented and learned a lot from last year (when the team reached the NCAA national tournament).  They've gelled very well.  Right now, the guys are fearless.  It's a great feeling as a coach to to watch them play and do great things."

Up next is the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Tournament, May 3rd through May 5th, in Concord's backyard – the Glade Springs Resort in Daniel, WV.
