WOMEN'S GOLF STARTS SPRING SEASON

Lady Lions 9th After 1st Day of Rader Invitational

Concord's Women's Golf team began its 2010 Spring season Monday, March 8th, in the first day of the Dana Rader Invitational at the par-72, 5830-yard Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte, NC.

The Lady Lions totaled a 348 for ninth place in the 14-team, 69-player field.

Nicole Shaw was the Lady Lions' top player Monday; her 83 left her in a seven-way tie for 20th place.

Next was Vivian Garciaferra, who stood in a tie for 32nd after carding an 87. Clarissa Wells and Shelby Myers each shot an 89 to tie for 41st. Sofia Svensson carded an 97 and Heather McMillen a 108.

Newberry College took the first-day team lead with a 311.

Mount Olive College's Valentina Urquiola posted the top individual score with a two-over 74.

The second and final day of the Dana Rader Invitational is set for Tuesday, March 9th.
