CUVIELLO, HUFFER EARN HONOR

Named CU's Liberty Mutual Senior Scholar-Athletes











Katie Cuviello, of the Concord Women's Soccer team, and Donovan Huffer, of the Mountain Lions Baseball squad, are CU's winners of the 2010 Liberty Mutual WVIAC Senior Scholar-Athlete award.

A student-athlete must meet performance criteria on the field and in the classroom to be eligible.

Katie Cuviello

Cuviello was an integral part of a Women's Soccer that finished 12-7 last fall and made its second consecutive appearance in the WVIAC Championship Game.
She finished second in the conference in assists (10), 8th in Points (22) and 8th in Points Per Game (1.16).
Cuviello is majoring in Recreation/Tourism Management.



Donovan Huffer
Huffer goes into his senior season as one of the leaders of a CU team expected to contende for the WVIAC championship.  
In 2009 he earned All-American, All-Atlantic Region and 1st Team All-WVIAC honors.
He was second in hits (72) and runs (54), and fourth in batting average (.439).  He recorded a .500 on-base percentage and a .616 slugging percentage.
Huffer is majoring in Business Administration.


Cuviello, Huffer and the conference's other Senior Scholar-Athletes will be honored during evening session of the WVIAC Basketball Tournament in Charleston on Friday, March 5th.
